Surface Web, Deep Web, Dark Web, and TOR browser
In worldwide Web or simply Internet there is mainly three type of Web-first one is surface Web the second one is Dark Web and another one is the Deep web.
Surface Web only 10% of the Internet. The surface Web is the collection of many static web pages. The surface web is also known as Visible Web, Indexed Web, and Lightnet.
This type of Web is available to everyone. Anyone can access it by simply search on the search engines, the big examples of the surface web's search engines are Google, Bing, Yahoo!.
This is the opposite of the Surface Web. There are many links we can't access directly, this is the deep section of the internet or Web. It's used for Online banking, storing academic information and government resources etc.
Deep Web is also known as invisible Web or hidden Web. It is not directly indexed by search engines such as Google, Bing or Yahoo!.
It is introduced by Computer scientist Michael K.Bergman in 2001. Websites of the Deep Web can be indexed or accessed by a direct URL link or IP(Internet Protocol) address.
And also may require passwords or other security access depending on the Web pages.
In world wide web the Dark Web is also known as darknets. This is a small part of the Deep web and this is not indexed by the Surface web search engines(Google, Bing, Yahoo!).
Hackers basically use Dark web.
It is only accessed by the specific software such as TOR. TOR is a browser that is used to indexed dark web pages, here we used the .onion domain name that is only accessed by the TOR browser, so it is a very secure browser. TOR uses many VPN, so here ISP or Internet Service Provider can't be monitoring the user activities on the Internet.
TOR encrypts the data including next node IP address so anyone can't track the user.

But some time many illegal websites created in the dark web such as illegal trade, forums, and media exchange for pedophiles and terrorists and if we accessed this type of websites the websites hack our PC, installing viruses, malware that accessed our private details or secret information. At the same time many websites are created only for the Tor users, so that's why people use TOR browser mostly.
